Three things make the damage side worse than it looks. First, a wire repair is not a cure — until the animals are excluded, they chew again, and the service calls repeat. • Ground-mount systems. Open underneath by design, easy to inspect, no enclosed nesting pocket against your house. Some owners fence them for other reasons, but a perimeter panel guard is not the tool.
• Flush or zero-gap installs. Some racking sits panels so close to the roof there is no cavity to nest in. No gap, no problem, no guard.
• No animal pressure. No trees near the roofline, no squirrel or pigeon activity in the neighborhood, nothing on your neighbors’ arrays.
